Von Weirdos Houses of the Holy Tee

Item # 000591

The two studios at the forefront of rock'n'roll album and poster art for the decade following '67s Summer of Love were undoubtedly Rick Griffin and Hipgnosis.

Griffin's iconic Flying Eyeball design for the concerts by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, John Mayall And The Bluesbreakers and Albert King at the Fillmore Auditorium and Winterland, San Francisco, February 1968 stands as a seminal piece of work.

Hipgnosis gained major international prominence in 1973 with their famed cover design for Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon. After that, the crew became in-demand, and did many covers for high-profile bands and artists such as Led Zeppelin, Genesis, UFO, Black Sabbath, Peter Gabriel, The Alan Parsons Project, and Yes.
