W.A.V.E. Hollow Spoon

Item # 000720

Well here's a rare 5' spoon kneeboard developed in the USA during the period 1970 to 1974 by none other than Karl Pope and Bob Johnson who formed the company called W.A.V.E. or Water Apparatus and Vehicular Engineering.

They recruited some famous designers, shapers and surfers at the time including Dick Brewer, Tom Morey, Larry Gordon (G&S) and Mike Purpus.

We are not sure whether this hollow fiberglass 'spoon' design was ever endorsed by George Greenough or not but it's clearly based on his concept.

Condition
Unrestored with all original blue paint, but missing it's sticker on the deck. Original fiberglass fin. Rates 8/10 plus.
